Neben dem Profi- und Amateurkader kann ein Verein auch einen Jugendkader haben. Die Jugendabteilung in einem Verein dient der Nachwuchsförderung. Es können maximal 25 Spieler in einem Jugendkader spielen, welche zwischen 13 und 19 Jahre alt sein dürfen. Diese Spieler können mit Hilfe des Scouting in den Jugendkader gezogen werden. Ein Abwerben von anderen Vereinen ist inzwischen nicht mehr möglich. Im Übrigen gelten für den Jugendkader die üblichen Kaderbestimmungen. Zukünftig soll es auch ein Jugendinternat geben.

Ligenebene
Die Jugendabteilungen spielen in den Ligenebenen 9, 10 und 11.
Scouting
Um an Spieler für den Jugendkader zu kommen, können Jugendspieler gescoutet werden. Man hat dabei die Auswahl festzulegen, welche Position, welche Nation und welches ungefähre Alter (13-14 Jahre = C-Jugend / 15-16 Jahre = B-Jugend) die Spieler haben sollen. Dies kostet pro Spieler € 50.000 (außerhalb Europas € 60.000) und die so gescouteten Spieler werden automatisch in den Jugendkader aufgenommen. Die Wahrscheinlichkeit, einen Jugendspieler mit großem Talent zu scouten, ist bei der C-Jugend höher als bei der B-Jugend.
Früher war es möglich, neben dem selber scouten der Spieler, Spieler anderer Vereine abzuwerben. Das war nur möglich, sofern der Jugendspieler keinen Vorvertrag und der abgebende Verein noch mindestens weitere 18 Spieler im Jugendkader hatte.
Vorvertrag
Die Jugendspieler bleiben im Jugendkader bis sie entweder:
- die Altersgrenze überschritten haben (erreichte 20 Jahre nach dem Saisonübergang, man muss sie also mit 19 Jahren (vor der Winterpause) hochziehen, sonst gehen sie im Saisonübergang)
- in den Amateur-/Profikader übernommen werden (ab 17 Jahre möglich)
- am Saisonwechsel mit einer Wahrscheinlichkeit von 40% den Verein selbsttätig verlassen, wenn sie nicht bis spätestens zur Winterpause einen Vorvertrag haben.
Um zu verhindern, dass ein Jugendspieler den Verein verlässt, kann man dem Jugendspieler einen Vorvertrag geben.
Beförderung
Über das Spielermenü können Jugendspieler ab 17 Jahren zu den Amateuren bzw. zu den Profis befördert werden. Dadurch erlischt ein eventuell vorhandener Vorvertrag und der Spieler erhält einen 1-Jahres-Vertrag mit Verlängerung.
Jugendspieler erhalten eine Wechselsperre in der Saison, in der sie gescoutet werden.
Beschränkungen
- Es sind keine Transfers mit Spielern aus der Jugendabteilung möglich.
- Die Alters-FTCP entfallen.
- Spieler aus der Jugendabteilungen können nicht Welttorschützenkönig werden.
- Es gilt für Spieler aus den Jugendabteilungen folgende Stärkeobergrenzen:
- 13-14 Jahre = maximale Stärke 2
- 15-16 Jahre = maximale Stärke 3
- ab 17 Jahre = maximale Stärke 4
