Idrottsföreningen Elfsborg, meistens kurz IF Elfsborg, ist ein Sportverein aus der schwedischen Stadt Borås.

Borås ist eine Stadt mit ca. 71.700 Einwohnern in der südschwedischen Provinz Västra Götalands län und der historischen Provinz Västergötland. Sie ist Hauptort der gleichnamigen Gemeinde. Im 19. Jahrhundert wuchs Borås vor allem durch die sich hier ansiedelnde Textilindustrie. Noch in den 1960er Jahren machte die Textilindustrie zwei Drittel der lokalen Wirtschaft aus. Die Zahl der Textilbetriebe ist zwar inzwischen gesunken, aber Borås ist immer noch eine Handelsstadt. Viele schwedische Bekleidungsunternehmen haben ihre Zentrale in Borås, und fast alle haben Handelsvertretungen hier. Auch haben die meisten schwedischen Versandhandels-Unternehmen ihren Sitz in Borås.
