Der Verein
Djurgardens Idrottsförening ist ein Verein aus dem Osten Stockholms. Das reale Vorbild ist Djurgardens IF Futbollförening, einer der erfolgreichsten schwedischen Fußballvereine. Zu den wohl bekanntesten Spielern gehören Andreas Isaksson und Kim Källström, die mit Djurgardens IF 2002 und 2003 die Meisterschaft der Allsvenskan gewannen.
Geschichte beim BMO
Die erfolgreichsten Spielzeiten hatte der Verein unter dem Manager Hotstuff-Hoschi (inzwischen Manager bei Twente Enschede) zwischen der 12. und 17. Saison. Im Verlauf der folgenden Spielzeiten wurde aus der Fahrstuhlmannschaft zunächst ein solides Team der Skandinavia 2, das dann aber allmählich in den Tabellenkeller rutschte. Nach dem Katastrophenjahr 2009, in dem sich sage und schreibe acht Manager bei Djurgardens IF versucht hatten, wird der Verein seit der Saison 26 von David Bronstein betreut und konnte seitdem zumindest die Jugend den Aufstieg in die erste Liga feiern. Auch bei den Profis konnte zuletzt zwei mal in Folge der Klassenerhalt gesichert werden. Der größte Erfolg der Profis in jüngerer Zeit war das Erreichen des Finales im inoffiziellen Liga-Pokal (Nils-Holgersson-Wanderpokal) nach der Saison 27.
