Der FC Zürich (abgekürzt FCZ) ist ein Fussballverein aus der Stadt Zürich. Der Verein wurde 1896 gegründet und ist einer der ältesten und traditionsreichsten Sportvereine der Schweiz.
Zürich (schweizerdeutsch Züri [t͡syri]; französisch Zurich, italienisch Zurigo, rätoromanisch Turitg, lateinisch Turicum) ist der Hauptort des gleichnamigen Kantons Zürich in der Schweiz. Die Stadt Zürich ist mit rund 400.000 Einwohnern die größte Stadt der Schweiz. Zürich ist das wichtigste wirtschaftliche, wissenschaftliche und gesellschaftliche Zentrum der Schweiz. Die Stadt liegt im östlichen Schweizer Mittelland, an der Limmat am Ausfluss des Zürichsees. Ihre Einwohner werden Zürcher genannt. Seit 2012 gilt Zürich als teuerste Stadt der Welt. Dank seiner Lage am Zürichsee, seiner gut erhaltenen mittelalterlichen Altstadt und einem vielseitigen Kulturangebot und Nachtleben ist Zürich auch ein Zentrum des Tourismus. In Anspielung auf die geografischen und historischen Gegebenheiten wird Zürich gelegentlich und informell als die "Limmatstadt" oder die "Zwinglistadt" bezeichnet.

Der FC Zürich im Überblick
Der FC Zürich zählt neben dem AC Bellinzona und den nicht mehr im Spielbetrieb vertretenen Grasshoppers Zürich zu den erfolgreichsten Vereinen der Alpengeschichte. Aus einem mittelständischen Verein entwickelte sich der FC Zürich ab Saison 6 (mit der Amtsübernahme durch Manager KasparGoldlocke zu einem echten Topclub, der über mehrere Saisonen hinweg das Geschehen in der Alpenliga mitgeprägt hat. Zwischenzeitlich - aus finanztechnischen sowie altersbedingten Gründen - vollzog der FC Zürich einen Umbruch.

Jugendscouting
Da es immer wieder interessant ist (manchmal - wie im Fall von Zürich - aber auch frustrierend), die eigenen Quoten mit den theoretisch erreichbaren Quoten zu vergleichen, im folgenden eine Übersicht des Jugendscouting-(Miss)Erfolges des FC Zürich seit Saison 18 (gescoutet wurde ausschließlich im C-Bereich, also 13 bis 14-jährige Jugendspieler). Zum Vergleich die theoretisch erzielbaren Quoten (lt. Info vom 09.02.2012) bei C-Scouting:

- Talent groß 33% (8er: 17%, 9er: 8%, 10er: 4%, 11er: 2%, 12er: 1%)
Ab Saison 37 gilt durch Umstellung des Jugendscoutings sowie der Talentstufen in etwas folgende Verteilung:
